Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, can be reconstructive (repairing damage) or cosmetic (altering shape for aesthetics).
Techniques:
- Open: Small external incision.
- Closed: Internal incisions, no visible scars.
- Revision: Corrects previous surgery.
- Non-Surgical: Fillers for minor adjustments.
Mild swelling is common and usually resolves within 2-6 weeks, by which time about 80% of the final results can be seen. Most patients can return to work after 5-7 days but should avoid strenuous activities, such as gym workouts, during this time.
The final outcome of rhinoplasty is fully visible approximately one year after the surgery.
