Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is a surgical procedure designed to decrease breast size by removing excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin. The nipple is preserved and repositioned to fit the new breast shape, maintaining its blood supply and sensation.
Enhance breast size using implants or fat grafting.
Implants:
- Silicone Gel: Common choice.
- Saline: Less common, patient-specific.
Fat Grafting:
Fat from other body areas is transferred to the breasts.
Post-Surgery Recovery:
Patients are generally discharged the day after surgery with routine medications and detailed instructions for resuming daily activities. The recovery period for breast surgery is typically 10-14 days, during which the breasts may be swollen and slightly red. This will gradually subside.
They are advised to avoid any strenuous activity (eg. Gym) and overexertion during this time.
